 John's Wort, a medicinal herb frequently blamed by conventional medicine for interfering with prescription drugs, is more effective than a popular antidepressant drug in treating depression. The study found that the herb is actually much more effective than antidepressant drugs, since more than half of those taking St. John's Wort in the trial experienced improvements in symptoms of mental depression. Legal systems are likely to continue to be faced with cases of violence associated with the use of psychotropic drugs, and it may fall to the courts to demand access to currently unavailable data. | So Big Pharma lobbied the FDA for the approval of antidepressant drugs for dogs, and in February, 2007, the FDA approved Prozac for dogs. Because, apparently, dogs have "chemical imbalances in their brain" requiring treatment with patented synthetic chemicals, just like children and adults, right?
